Task 1 – Explore the IRETT website

Explore the IRETT website making sure that you are familiar with the IRETT. In particular:

  • The about page to be sure that you have an understanding of the toolkit and its purpose.
  • The three available tools to be sure you have a basic understanding of each tool.
  • The nine pilot projects to be sure that you know what you are letting yourself in for!
  • The current mentors who will be leading the training over the coming weeks.

Task 2 – Complete the mentorship course on Plus

Effective mentorship can lead to success and satisfaction for mentors and mentees. Mentors serve as role models, and they guide the mentees’ personal and professional development. However, formal mentoring programmes in healthcare are often lacking. This one hour Physiopedia Plus online course will define mentorship and describe what makes mentorship successful.

Task 3 – Reflection Task

After the webinar, write a short reflection on how the IRETT aligns with your own experience. In this reflection you should share your previous experiences related to rehabilitation workforce capacity building. What projects have you been involved with, what outcomes have you experienced, what has been successful and what hasn’t. Reflect on how the IRETT tools and how you think they may contribute to workforce development activities. Share your reflection in the “week one discussion one#w1d1 channel in Slack. Provide constructive feedback on each other’s discussion posts to simulate the mentor-mentee support dynamic.
